"My 6th grader had to do a lesson on Afros, the history of them, world's largest, and how to be culturally sensitive to people who have Afros. This lesson is ridiculous. My son has a black friend and none of this is relevant. It's inappropriate and most likely made the black students feel uncomfortable that their hair is being taught as a lesson. Can't we just go back to judging people by the "content of their character" and not the color of their skin (or hair texture!) as Martin Luther King asked so many years ago."
