April 2021 - the staff of a Seattle Public School are instructed to read "White Supremacy Culture" by Tema Okum ( They are directed to discuss how the following characteristics of white supremacy culture show up in their school: perfectionism, sense of urgency, defensiveness, quantity over quality, worship of the written word, paternalism, either/or thinking, power hoarding, fear of open conflict, individualism, I'm the only one, progress is bigger/more, objectivity, and right to comfort.
