April 2021 - the staff of a Seattle Public School are instructed to read "White Supremacy Culture" by Tema Okum (www.dismantlingracism.org) They are directed to discuss how the following characteristics of white supremacy culture show up in their school: perfectionism, sense of urgency, defensiveness, quantity over quality, worship of the written word, paternalism, either/or thinking, power hoarding, fear of open conflict, individualism, I'm the only one, progress is bigger/more, objectivity, and right to comfort.
